St. Paddy’s Run 5K and 10K : Evergreen Cemetery, March 14, 2027
St. Paddy’s Run is a pair of certified road races held at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 North Main Street. The event includes two course options:
- 5K
- 10K
Both distances start together and finish in a common finish area. The courses run beneath oak and magnolia trees and are described as approximately 90% shaded. All miles and turns are marked and there are digital clocks at most miles. Races are chip-timed; runners must wear the timing bib on the front and avoid folding or covering the chip.
All finishers receive a finisher medal and all participants receive a moisture-wicking technical shirt with gender-specific sizing. Both the 5K and 10K offer overall and age-group awards across the listed age divisions. The 10K includes prize money: $200 for first place, $100 for second, $50 for third, and $50 for first place masters; masters may also earn open prize money. The event is listed as a Jacksonville Grand Prix race and awards points to top-ten age-group finishers in the series.
Entry fees vary by registration date: through January 31 $30, February 1–28 $35, March 1–14 $40. Online registration closes before race day; in-person registration is available at 1st Place Sports stores. Packet pickup is available at selected 1st Place Sports locations on Friday, March 13 (10:00 AM–6:00 PM) and Saturday, March 14 (10:00 AM–4:00 PM).
Bikes and dogs are not allowed on the course. Proceeds support the Springfield Preservation and Revitalization Council and The Evergreen Cemetery Association. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
