Event Overview
The Viking 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon is scheduled for February 28, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event offers three distances: 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. The event is organized by US Road Running.
Location and Course
The start and finish line is at Mallard Creek Playground, located across from Mallard Creek Elementary School at 9729 Mallard Creek Road. The course features a hill at the start/finish area.
Both the 5K/10K and Half Marathon courses are out-and-back routes on paved paths.
- The 5K and 10K share a 1.56-mile out-and-back segment (3.11 miles total). The 5K is completed by running this segment once, while the 10K requires two loops.
- The Half Marathon uses a separate 1.64-mile out-and-back segment (3.275 miles total). This distance is completed by running the segment four times.
Registration and Logistics
All participants must register online in advance. There is no on-site registration available on the day of the race. Packet pickup begins 30 minutes before the race start and closes 10 minutes before the start.
