2026 Bunny Run 5k & Festival
The 2026 Bunny Run 5k & Festival takes place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Downtown Concord. The event features two primary running distances:
- 5 km
- 1 mile (Fun Run)
Both races start on McCachern Blvd next to the Cabarrus County Parking Lot. The 1 mile Fun Run follows the Downtown Connector Greenway and includes a turnaround point at the half-mile mark. The 5 km course follows a separate mapped route through the local area.
Participants in the 5 km race are eligible for various awards. These include the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in numerous age groups ranging from 10 & under to 75 and over. Special divisions for 2026 include Masters (40+), Grand Masters (50+), and Senior Grand Masters (60+). Registered 5 km runners aged 18 and older are also entered into a drawing for new athletic shoes.
A free community festival runs alongside the races from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The festival features entertainment and activities such as a DJ, face painting, arts and crafts, food trucks, and appearances by the Easter Bunny. Parking is available at the Cabarrus County Parking Garage, the Church Street lot, and the City of Concord Parking Garage.
Registration includes the option for a commemorative t-shirt if completed by March 13th. Race day registration is available via QR code, though prices increase after the early deadline. Packet pickup is offered on the Thursday and Friday preceding the event at designated locations in Concord, as well as on the morning of the race.
