New South Trail Marathon - Whitewater
The New South Trail Marathon takes place at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC on April 10, 2027. The event offers two distances:
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- 26.2 miles (Full Marathon)
Pre-registration and race day registration fees are listed separately for each distance. Pre-registration rates and deadlines:
- Half Marathon pre-registration $75, last day to pre-register April 8, 2027; race day registration $80.
- Full Marathon pre-registration $95, last day to pre-register April 8, 2027; race day registration $100.
Packet pick-up is scheduled for April 9 at the South Conference Center. Necessary course information will be available up to four weeks before the race.
The course uses the Whitewater Center trail system and will be marked with colored arrows. Surfaces include natural surface trails and uneven terrain. Aid stations are located on course with the following services:
- South Main Aid Station (Mile 4.2): Hydration only
- East Main Aid Station (Mile 8.1): Hydration and food
- East Main Aid Station (Mile 11.2): Hydration only
- Start/Finish Line Aid Station: Hydration and food
Event policies and logistics: all participants must sign the Whitewater Center assumption of risk waiver before participating; registration is non-refundable; events proceed rain or shine though the center may alter or cancel events. Trails remain open to other runners, hikers, and bikers. Headphones are strongly discouraged. No pets or powered transportation, including e-bikes, are permitted on course. Race shirts, hoodies, and medals have registration deadlines for guaranteed availability. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in specified age groups, and recipients must be present at the award ceremony to receive awards. The Whitewater Center does not perform trail rescues; participants must call 911 for emergencies and can use emergency location markers on the trail. Parking at the Whitewater Center carries a $13 daily fee; annual passes are available for $45. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
