HACA The Factor Dash 5k & Walk
HACA The Factor Dash is a community 5k and 1-mile event held at Lake Accotink Park in Springfield, VA on May 16, 2026. Points from the event count toward the Year-Long 5k & Back of the Pack Series and the Spring Series. The race benefits the Hemophilia Association of the Capital Area (HACA), a nonprofit focused on advocacy, education, and support for people affected by bleeding disorders.

The 5k uses a flat, paved out-and-back course through Lake Accotink Park. Walkers and strollers are welcome. The event offers a virtual race option for participants who cannot attend in person. Amenities for in-person runners include a finisher’s ribbon, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and electronic chip timing. One water station is located at approximately mile 1.55; Gatorade may be available at some stations. Restrooms are located at the top of the hill near the beach.
Awards are given to the top three overall men and women and to first and second place in standard age categories from 19 & under through 70+. Overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. Packet pickup and race day registration are available at the event; t-shirt guarantees apply to registrations completed before May 6.
