Grit & Grace Trail Race
Grit & Grace Trail Race is a weekend of timed trail events held at Camp GuilRock, 531 Belville Rd, Reidsville, NC. The event features a 12-hour timed trail run and a 6-hour weighted ruck on the same course at the camp grounds.
The course is approximately a 3-mile loop composed of grassy trail, gravel road, single track, and forest road. Terrain is a mix of gentle rolling sections and flat stretches. There is a single aid station located in the start/transition area that is stocked with Tailwind, LMNT, and water; participants may bring additional nutrition. Because the event takes place in February, a light source is required or highly encouraged depending on the event.
The 12-hour run records completed laps; each finished lap must be checked in to be counted. The course direction is reversed every three hours. Finishers receive an award listing the distance achieved and overall awards are given for first and second male and female.
The 6-hour ruck uses a weight-distance scoring format where a participant's lap score equals the carried weight in pounds times the lap distance in miles, recorded as Kz. Packs are weighed at start and at lap completion and the lesser weight is used for that lap. FLAP and SLAP formats are used to distinguish full laps from shorter final laps. Camping is available on site and indoor check-in/out areas and a firepit will be provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
