Grit & Grace Trail Race
Grit & Grace Trail Race takes place at Camp GuilRock in Reidsville, North Carolina. The event offers a 12 hour trail race and a 6 hour weighted ruck on an approximately 3 mile loop of grassy trail, gravel road, single track, and forest road. The terrain is described as gentle rolling with stretches of flat trail.
The 12 hour event records laps completed within the time limit; each lap must be finished to count and participants may stop competing at any time by reporting to race staff. A single aid station at the start area will be stocked with Tailwind, LMNT, and water. Because the event occurs in February with short daylight hours, a light source is required for the 12 hour race and strongly encouraged for the 6 hour ruck.
The 6 hour ruck uses a weighted scoring format. Each lap is scored by multiplying carried weight in pounds by lap distance in miles to produce a Kz value; total Kz values determine results. Packs are weighed before the race, after each lap, and before departing for a new lap; the official weight for a lap is the lesser of the relevant weigh ins.
The event uses a Race Passport with barcode scanning and lap stamps. A FLAP and SLAP format is used so full laps are run for most of the event and shorter lap options occur during the final hour. Camping is available off course and all finishers receive an award reflecting their result. Registration closes February 24 at 11:59 PM ET.
