About the race
Grit & Grace Trail Race is a late February 2027 trail event held at Camp GuilRock in Reidsville, North Carolina. The venue is a 210-acre camp at 531 Beville Rd with camping available off course and an indoor pavilion or covered area for check-in. A communal firepit will be maintained during the event.
The course is an approximately 3-mile loop composed of grassy trail, gravel road, single track, and forest road. Terrain is mostly gentle rolling with many flat sections. There is one aid station located at the start line area stocked with Tailwind, LMNT, and water; participants may bring additional nutrition. Because the event takes place in February, a light source is required for the 12-hour event and highly encouraged for the 6-hour event.
Two primary formats are described: a 12-hour trail race where competitors complete as many laps as possible and a 6-hour weighted ruck using a scoring system based on pounds carried times miles (Kz). Laps must be finished to count; competitors check in and out at each lap and may tap out at any time. Packs are weighed for each ruck lap and the official lap weight is the lesser of the weigh-ins for that lap. All finishers receive an award showing their achieved distance or total Kz. Overall awards are given to the top two male and female individuals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
