Greta's Run 5K

Greta's Run 5K is a USATF-certified 5K held on May 17, 2026, at Roosevelt Intermediate School in Westfield, New Jersey. The 5K is one part of a day that also features a Kids Fun Run and a Memory Walk, plus virtual and special-division options.

Registration for the in-person 5K opens January 21, 2026 and closes May 8, 2026. The standard registration fee is $35.00; youth registration for ages 12 and under is $15.00 and is applied automatically at checkout. Event t-shirts are guaranteed for the first 1,500 registered participants; shirt sizes are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event welcomes participants using wheelchairs and includes a stroller division introduced for 2026, with a prize for the top stroller finisher. A virtual 5K option is available for participants outside New Jersey, with its own registration window noted by the organizer.

Proceeds support Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, which provides free peer grief support groups and related services from locations in Mountainside and Newark, New Jersey. Last year the event raised over $250,000 and the organizer has set a fundraising goal of $300,000 for this year to expand support offerings.

T-shirt and bib pick up is available in advance at Fleet Feet Westfield on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16, and will also be available on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
