Run for the Last Mile 5K
The Run for the Last Mile is a 5K road event held on the William Paterson University campus in Wayne, New Jersey. The event is USATF sanctioned and part of the USATF-NJ Grand Prix as a 500 point race. The course uses campus roads and paths and includes rolling hills.
Proceeds support the Last Mile Fund, a scholarship that helps students cover final-semester course costs so they can graduate. The event accepts both individual and team entries; teams may include community groups, student organizations, staff, and faculty. Awards are given to top racers by individual categories and to teams, and additional awards recognize team spirit and enthusiasm.
Registration opens 11/19/2026 and closes 4/18/2027. The registration fee is $40.00. A limited number of early registrants will receive a race t-shirt; the event notes an allocation for first registrants. Students are eligible for a discounted registration rate using the code student2025.
