About the race
The Gregory Burnett, Sr. Memorial 5K & Family Fun Run is a community memorial event held on October 18, 2026, at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk, Connecticut. The event is hosted by the ANu Foundation, Inc.
and the Alpha Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and it serves as a scholarship fundraising activity to support the foundation’s scholarship programs. The in-person program includes a certified 5K course and a Legacy Mile/Family Fun Run along the Long Island Sound shoreline. Virtual options are offered for both the 5K and the Legacy Mile so participants can join remotely. Event features include participation T-shirts, age group medals for the 5K, community vendors and sponsors, team recognition and scholarship fundraising awards, and trophies for the top three fundraising groups.
A surprise guest will serve as emcee and race announcer. 5K age group medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each category: 12 and under, 13 - 18, 19 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 59, 60 - 69, 70 - 79, and 80+. Net proceeds from the event benefit the ANu Foundation’s scholarship initiatives and aim to continue the legacy of service and educational support promoted by the organizers.
