Westchester Turkey Trot
The Westchester Turkey Trot is a holiday-themed running event held in Valhalla, NY. The competition features chip-timed races on paved streets, taking place at the Westchester Community College campus. Participants have the choice between several distance options:
- 10K
- 5K
- Kids Dash
The event is part of the nationwide Thankful Turkey tradition, allowing runners to compare their chip-timed results against participants from across the country via a national leaderboard. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in various age groups, ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over.
The start and finish lines are located on the east side of parking lot 8 at Westchester Community College. The 5K course has a time limit of 1 hour 20 minutes, while the 10K has a limit of 1 hour 50 minutes. Parking is available on-site, accessible via the East and West Gates on Grasslands Road.
Participants receive event gear, with options including a classic t-shirt or a technical polyester pullover. Duck Donuts are provided for finishers at the end of the race. The event supports Feeding Westchester, a local organization dedicated to fighting hunger.
