- Youth 1 Mile
The primary route is a well-marked 7.8 mile loop on the Madrone Trail running close to the lake shoreline. The loop is mostly shaded and contains technical trail sections. The 25K covers two full loops and the 50K covers four full loops. The 10K uses a shortcut to reach about 6.2 miles and the 5K follows a marked turn to finish near 3.1 miles.
Course markings include orange caution tape, yellow arrows on stakes and trees, and frequent confidence markers; signs at intersections indicate which way each distance should go. Aid support consists of one full on-course aid station near the halfway point, a start/finish aid station, and additional water and ice stations between those points. Finish line provisions include cold sodas and water.
The event is cupless so participants must have their own cup, bottle, or hydration system; collapsible cups are available for purchase at packet pickup or the merch tent for $7 cash or Venmo. Littering can lead to disqualification. Organizers include the Water-Oriented Recreation District of Comal County and the event supports the Great Springs Project. Parking is managed into two lots and spectators are charged $10 cash with children under eight admitted free. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
