Great Springs Trail Race - Canyon Lake
The event is a trail running race at Canyon Park in Canyon Lake, Texas, presented as the park's inaugural trail running race. Distances offered include:
- 5K
- 10K
- 25K
- 50K
- Youth 1 Mile
The main loop measures 7.8 miles, is mostly shaded, and follows winding shoreline trails with technical sections. The 25K completes two full loops, the 50K completes four, the 10K uses a shortcut to reach about 6.2 miles, and the 5K follows a marked turn to finish near 3.1 miles. Course markings include caution tape, yellow arrows, and confidence markers, with reflectors used for runs in dark hours.
Aid station support includes one full on-course aid station around the halfway point of the loop and an aid station at the start and finish. Additional water and ice stations are placed between those points. The series is cupless, so participants must carry a cup or bottle; collapsible cups are available for purchase at packet pickup and the merch tent. Drop bag services are not provided on course, though participants may leave belongings near the race hub.
Timing is chip based with ankle chips; both gun time and chip time appear in results. Pacers are not allowed. The event is produced with support from W.O.R.D. Comal County and benefits the Great Springs Project. Leave No Trace practices are enforced and littering can lead to disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
