Event Overview
The Real Ale Brewing 5K Beer Run is a 5 km race taking place on December 5 in Blanco, Texas. It is the final event in the 2026 Texas 5k 6-Pack Beer Challenge. The run starts and finishes at the Real Ale Brewing Co.
Course & Support
The course runs south through rural farm roads and returns to the brewery. There is one aid station at the 1.5 mile point, manned by volunteers from the non-profit beneficiary, Friends of Blanco State Park, providing water and sports drink. The course is described as stroller-friendly.
Entry Includes
Registration includes a custom finisher pint glass, four 8-ounce tastings of Real Ale craft beer, an official performance fabric shirt, and a well-marked and supported course. Other features include chip timing, free online race photos, and food trucks available for purchases after the run.
Awards & Extras
Competitive awards are given to the top male and female overall and masters (40+) winners, as well as the top three in standard age groups from 19 & Under to 70 & Up. A random drawing for souvenir awards is held after the competitive ceremony. There is also a holiday costume contest with prizes for the top five male and female winners.
Logistics
Packet pickup is available at the brewery on the Friday before the race from 4-7 p.m. and on race day from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. Parking is free and plentiful. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
