Jingle Bell Run - San Marcos
The Jingle Bell Run is a timed holiday run held as part of the Sights & Sounds of Christmas festival in San Marcos. The event includes a 5K that runs through downtown and the Historic District and a Kids 1K that runs through the festival area. The course starts and finishes at San Marcos Plaza Park at Hutchison and CM Allen.
The event partners with Ainsley’s Angels. Runner packets include a technical T-shirt, a chipped bib, free festival entry, safety pins, and jingle bells. Early packet pickup is available at the race tent near the festival gates and on race morning; packets must be claimed before the race or they are forfeited. Packets may be picked up by another person on a runner’s behalf.
Practical notes from the event: strollers and leashed dogs are allowed but must remain toward the back of the start group; the course is not closed to traffic and marshals and officers will help control intersections; the race is chipped and course certified. Awards cover overall male and female, masters, top three male and female, and age-group awards from 5 & under through 85 and over. The event includes crowd-voted festive awards and door prizes from local businesses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
