Jingle Bell Run - San Marcos
The event is a holiday running program held as part of the Sights & Sounds of Christmas festival in San Marcos. The main race is a chip-timed 5K that runs through downtown and the Historic District and both starts and finishes at San Marcos Plaza Park at Hutchison and CM Allen. A separate kids course, the Kids K, runs through the festival area.
The runner packet includes a technical T-shirt, a chipped bib, safety pins, jingle bells, and free entry into the festival. Early packet pickup is available at the race tent during festival dates; packets may also be picked up by another person on a runner’s behalf. Online registration edits and basic transfers are allowed through specified deadlines without cost.
Awards are given for overall and age-group placements across standard divisions; the event also offers crowd-voted festive costume prizes and numerous door prizes from local businesses, for which winners must be present. The course is not closed to traffic; police officers will be positioned along the route to assist with traffic control. Strollers and leashed dogs are permitted but are asked to remain toward the back of the start group. Course maps, parking details, and FAQ information are provided by the organizers.
