Jingle Bell Run 5K and Kids K - San Marcos
The Jingle Bell Run is a community running event held as part of the Sights and Sounds of Christmas festival in San Marcos on December 12, 2026. The event features a 5K and a childrens 1K that runs through festival grounds, with the race start and finish located at San Marcos Plaza Park at Hutchison and CM Allen.
The event includes the following distances
- 5K route through downtown and the Historic District, start and finish at San Marcos Plaza Park.
- Kids 1K route runs through the Sights and Sounds festival area.
The race is chip timed and the course is certified. The event is not held on a closed course; officers will be positioned along the route to help control traffic. Runner packets include a technical shirt, a chipped bib, safety pins, and jingle bells. Packets may be picked up on designated festival days in early December and may be collected by another person on a runner's behalf.
Awards are given for overall male and female finishers, masters, top three male and female, and a series of age group divisions from 5 and under through 85 and over. The event partners with a local chapter of Ainsleys Angels and includes additional festival activities and vendor offerings in the downtown area.
