Great South Bay YMCA 5K Run/Walk in memory of a community member
This annual 5K run/walk is organized to bring the community together and to support friends, neighbors, and families affected by breast cancer. The event takes place at the Great South Bay YMCA in Bay Shore, New York.
Registration was not yet open at the time of the listing and is scheduled to open prior to the event date. Amenities after the race include awards, prizes, refreshments, and sponsor giveaways; event t-shirts are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Awards include a top overall male and female prize of a one-year full adult YMCA membership and a YMCA gift basket, with medals for the top three finishers in multiple age groups spanning 15 & under through 80 and over. Bib pickup is available the day before the race at the YMCA and on race day at the YMCA location; participants must know their bib number for pickup and a self-lookup area is provided for those who do not. Virtual entries receive bibs by mail, with a shipping window from one week before the event to one week after.
