2026 GOFM's Market Mile
The event is Groundswell's 5th Annual Market Mile, held in Galveston at 3304 Market Street on April 12, 2026. It is a one mile community run or walk connected to the weekly farmers market. Proceeds support Groundswell's Food Access Programming, including MarketMatch, WIC and Senior FMNP voucher initiatives.
Participants may choose a leisurely neighborhood stroll, a fun run, or attend the market and event activities without completing the mile. Dogs and strollers are allowed; participants using a stroller or pet will start at the end of the corral. Teams are encouraged and the largest team receives the Biggest Flock award. There is also a Berry Best Dressed award for costumed or styled participants.
Registration categories and fees are listed as Adult Registration $45.11 and Kids/Teen Registration (ages 3 to 18) $18.24. Registered participants receive a Market Mile bib, a Market Mile shirt with size guaranteed if registered by March 22, an enamel pin for the first 100 registrants, and entry to the post race party.
Packet pick up is scheduled for April 9 at Freckleberry Tea & Coffee, 2724 Market Street, Galveston. The event is rain or shine unless weather is dangerous, and no refunds are offered.
