2026 GOFM's Market Mile
Groundswell's 5th Annual Market Mile takes place in Galveston on April 12, 2026 at 3304 Market Street. The event is a one mile course where participants may run, walk, stroll, jump, hop or skip. Dogs and strollers are allowed and participants using a stroller or a pet will start at the end of the corral.
Proceeds benefit Groundswell’s Food Access Programming, including MarketMatch, WIC and Senior FMNP voucher initiatives. The event honors a long time vendor who passed away in 2021 and who supported these programs.
Registration offers adult and kids options. Adult registration fee is $45.11 and kids registration for ages 3 to 15 is $18.24. Registered participants receive a Market Mile bib, a Market Mile shirt (shirt size guaranteed for registrations completed by March 22; shirts are not guaranteed after March 28), an enamel pin for the first 100 registrants, and entry to the post-race party. Packet pick-up is scheduled for April 9 with location to be determined. No refunds will be given. The event will proceed rain or shine unless weather conditions become dangerous.
Event programming includes a post-race market party with live music, local food and beverages, and the weekly farmers market. Awards listed include a Berry Best Dressed prize and a Biggest Flock award for the team with the most members. Team creation is supported during and after registration.
