Galveston Island Brewing Co 5K Beer Run
The Galveston Island Brewing Co 5K Beer Run is a chip-timed athletic event held in Galveston, Texas. The course starts and finishes at the local brewery, located at 8423 Stewart Rd. Participants follow a flat and fast out-and-back route that takes them along the Galveston Seawall overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The event is part of the Texas 5K Beer Challenge series.
The race is open to all participant types, including walkers and those with strollers. The course is well-supported with a single water station positioned at the halfway mark. Results are officially timed using chip technology, and free race photos are provided to participants online following the event.

Registered participants receive a performance fabric T-shirt and a custom finisher glass. After the run, those of legal age can access the tasting area for up to four 8-oz. pours of local craft beer. Food trucks are also on-site for post-race purchases.
Competitive awards are presented to the top male and female finishers in overall and master categories, as well as the top three finishers in seven distinct age groups ranging from 19 and under to 70 and up. Additionally, a random prize drawing is held for all participants after the formal award ceremony. This event benefits the Galveston Island Humane Society.
