Event information
The Go for the Green 5K Run/Walk takes place on March 14, 2026 in Smithtown, NY at Smithtown Elementary School, 51 Lawrence Ave. The event includes two distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk
All proceeds from the 5K go to charities and scholarships managed by the Rotary Club of Smithtown. Registration terms state that fees are non-refundable.
Course, logistics and awards
The course is USATF certified and described as relatively flat through residential streets on a police-controlled route. Course support includes water stops and mile splits. Pre-race bib pickup is available at Smithtown Running Company and number pickup is available at the school on race day. Raffle participation and team registration options are offered.
Amenities listed for participants include race shirts to the first 300 registrants, professional race announcing, post-race refreshments including bakery items, and live online results and same-day finish line photos. Participants may present their race number at Napper Tandy's Irish Pub for one free draft beer on race day.
