About the race
The Bunny Trail 5K Run/Walk is presented as an annual trail event held at Bethpage State Park, described as the event's seventh edition. The main footrace covers 5K on natural terrain that starts on a grassy polo field and continues onto winding, scenic soft trails through the park. The course includes a few small hills and is described as mostly flat with a cross country feel.
The event program includes a free kiddie run and a virtual participation option. Virtual entrants may log a result within the event window and may upload up to five photos; mailed race bibs are available for virtual participants when gear ships.
On-site amenities include an informal bag check area, bathrooms within a few minutes' walk of the start and finish, finish-line hydration, and refreshments supplied by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Parking is organized near the Bethpage State Park Playground with access to the polo field area.
Race materials and recognition details note that bibs can be mailed for a fee when requested in advance and that bib placement should be mid-torso for best read rates. Online age group recognition is provided for overall top finishers and for standard decade age groups through 90 and above. One hundred percent of donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) supporting athletic and charitable initiatives.
