The Bunny Trail 5K Run/Walk
The Bunny Trail is a trail running and walking event held at Bethpage State Park on the park polo field and adjacent soft trails in the Massapequas Lands / Old Bethpage area. The event centers on a 5K course that begins on a grassy polo field and continues on winding, scenic soft trails with a few small hills and mostly flat sections. A free kiddie run is also offered.
Amenities at the race site include an informal bag check area, bathroom facilities a few minutes' walk from the start and finish, finish-line hydration, and refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Event apparel such as a Bunny Trail tee is available.
Participation options include an in-person event and a virtual option. Virtual participants have from the event start day through a full week to log a time and may upload up to five photos. Bibs can be mailed for a $10 fee if registration is completed at least ten days before the event; mailed bibs for virtual participants are sent when race gear becomes available.
Age-group online recognition is awarded to the top 1 in female, male, and X categories overall and within multiple age brackets from 14 and under through 90 plus. Parking is located near the Bethpage State Park Playground with access via Picnic Polo Road past the toll booth. Proceeds support the Never Stop Running Foundation.
