Aspire 10K Run/Walk GLIRC
Aspire 10K is an annual road race held in Plainview, New York, with a USATF certified 10 km course (6.2 miles) routed through suburban streets and rolling countryside. The event is based at H.B. Mattlin Middle School, 100 Washington Ave., Plainview, NY, and includes recorded 5K split times and Nassau County Police traffic control along the course.
Event amenities include a top quality Aspire 10K shirt, a finisher medal, post-race refreshments, a post-race prize drawing (winners must be present), and live online results with free same-day finish line and 5K split photos.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, top three male and female wheelchair competitors, top three in multiple age groups from youth through 90+, top three masters (ages 40 to 59), and top three senior masters (60+). A special award honors the top male and female residents of Plainview-Old Bethpage. There is a $500 cash prize available if the overall male or female winner breaks the current race record times of 30:27 for men or 33:39 for women.
Proceeds benefit the Sunrise Association, an organization that provides free inclusive camps, year-round programs, and in-hospital recreational activities for children with cancer and their siblings.
Bib pickup is available the day before the event at Runner's Edge, 242 Main St, Farmingdale, NY, during the posted pickup hours. Participants must know their bib number to collect a race bib; a self lookup area is provided. No non-service dogs are allowed at the event.
