Aspire 10K
The Aspire 10K is a USATF certified 10K (6.2 miles) road event held in Plainview, New York, with race activity based at H.B. Mattlin Middle School, 100 Washington Ave. The course runs through suburban streets and rolling countryside with Nassau County Police traffic control and a recorded 5K split.
Participants receive a quality "Aspire 10K" shirt and a finisher medal. Post-race refreshments are provided and there is a post-race drawing for dozens of prizes; winners must be present to claim prizes. Live online results and free same-day finish line and 5K split photos are available.
Awards include top three male and female overall finishers, top three male and female wheelchair finishers, and top three in age groups from 9 and under through 90 plus. Additional categories include masters and senior masters. Prize specifics for overall places include a pair of Saucony Ride 18 shoes for first place and gift cards for second and third place. Special awards recognize the top male and female residents of Plainview-Old Bethpage and offer a $500 cash prize if the overall male or female winner breaks the listed race record times.
Proceeds benefit the Sunrise Association, which provides free camps and year round programs for children with cancer and their siblings. Bib pickup is available the day before at Runner's Edge, 242 Main St, Farmingdale, NY, and on the race day at the school. No non service dogs are allowed at the event.
