Event overview
The GLIRC Aspire 10K Run/Walk takes place on April 4, 2026 in Plainview, New York. The event starts and finishes at H.B. Mattlin Middle School, 100 Washington Ave., Plainview, NY. The race distance is 10K (6.2 miles). The course is USATF certified and runs through suburban streets and rolling countryside with Nassau County Police traffic control. Recorded 5K split times are provided.
Registration, bibs and amenities
Registration is available online with tiered pricing and includes a processing fee. Discounted entry of $5 is offered to GLIRC members, veterans, seniors (65+), and Town of Oyster Bay residents. Shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by March 21. Registered participants receive an Aspire 10K t-shirt and a finisher medal. Bib pickup is offered before race day at Runner's Edge in Farmingdale (pre-race details TBD) and on race day at the school. Participants who register three weeks before the event can have their name printed on their bib.
Awards, extras and beneficiary
Awards include top three male and female overall and wheelchair divisions, top three in multiple age groups, masters and senior masters awards, and an age-graded prize. Additional prizes and conditional $500 cash prizes are listed for course record performances. Proceeds benefit the Sunrise Association, which provides free camps and programs for children with cancer and their siblings. Live results and same-day finish line photos are provided.
