Aspire 10K
Aspire 10K is an annual 10-kilometer road event held in Plainview, New York, with the venue listed as H.B. Mattlin Middle School, 100 Washington Ave. The course is USATF certified as a 10K (6.2 miles) and runs through suburban streets and rolling countryside with Nassau County Police traffic control. The event records a 5K split time.
Event amenities include a top quality "Aspire 10K" shirt, a finisher medal, post-race refreshments, a post-race drawing for prizes (must be present to win), live results and free same-day finish line and 5K split photos.
Awards cover top three male and female overall finishers with specific prizes for the top three overall places, top three male and female wheelchair divisions, top three in multiple age-group categories from 9 & under through 90+, top three masters (40 to 59) and senior masters (60+), and a special award for top Plainview-Old Bethpage residents. There is a $500 cash prize if the overall male or female winner breaks the listed course records.
The event benefits the Sunrise Association, an organization that runs free summer camps, year-round programs and in-hospital recreational activities for children with cancer and their siblings. Bib pickup is available pre-race on Friday, April 3 from 12:00 to 17:00 at Runner's Edge, 242 Main St, Farmingdale, NY, with additional race-day pickup at the school.
