2026 GLIRC Aspire 10K Run/Walk
The Aspire 10K Run/Walk takes place in Plainview, New York, starting and ending at H.B. Mattlin Middle School. This event features a 10 km course that is USATF certified. The route leads participants through suburban streets and rolling countryside, with traffic control provided by the Nassau County Police.
Participants follow a course that include a recorded 5 km split time. For those who register at least three weeks before the event, the race bib is personalized with the runner's name. The event is held rain or shine, and for safety reasons, non-service dogs are not permitted on the course.

All registrants receive an event T-shirt and a finisher medal. Post-race activities at the school include refreshments and a drawing for various prizes. Results are provided live, and runners can access free same-day photos from the finish line and the 5 km split point.
Awards are presented to the top male and female finishers overall, as well as in wheelchair, masters (40-59), and senior masters (60+) categories. Age group awards are also distributed in five-year increments ranging from 9 and under to 90 and over. Proceeds from the event support the Sunrise Association, which provides programs and summer camps for children with cancer and their siblings.
