Aspire 10K
The Aspire 10K is an annual road race held in Plainview, New York, with staging at H.B. Mattlin Middle School. The course is USATF certified for 10 km (6.2 miles) and routes through suburban streets and rolling countryside with Nassau County Police traffic control. A recorded 5K split time is provided.
Amenities for participants include a commemorative Aspire 10K shirt, a finisher medal, post-race refreshments, live results, and free same-day finish line and 5K split photos. There is a post-race prize drawing; winners must be present to claim prizes.
Awards are presented to top finishers overall, in wheelchair divisions, and across age-group categories including masters and senior masters. Top overall finishers receive specified prizes and there are cash incentives: a $500 prize if the overall male winner breaks the men's course record of 30:27 and a $500 prize if the overall female winner breaks the women's course record of 33:39. Local resident awards are also listed. Specific prize details and age groups are provided by the organizer.
Proceeds benefit the Sunrise Association, an organization that provides inclusive summer day camps, year-round programs, and in-hospital recreational activities for children with cancer and their siblings, offered free of charge.
Pre-race bib pickup is available at Runner's Edge in Farmingdale and on race day at the school. Non-service dogs are not allowed at the event. Registration is not yet open. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
