Brush Rabbit 5K Run/Walk
The Brush Rabbit 5K Run/Walk is presented by the Chemical and Salvage Co. 2 of the Lindenhurst Fire Department and takes place at the Lindenhurst Fire Dept. Training Grounds, 555 Heling Blvd., Lindenhurst, NY. Registration is not yet open and will open before the event.
The event is a fundraiser for Chemical and Salvage Co. 2 to support community outreach activities, including hosting youth groups, a college scholarship award, fire prevention programs, a Halloween trunk or treat, the holiday parade and Santa ride. Amenities listed for the event include a post race medal for all registrants, a family friendly area for children, a surprise Easter egg hunt on the run route, live and text or email results, free finish-line photos, and personalized bibs for registrations completed at least three weeks in advance. T-shirts will be available for purchase.
Awards are planned by category and age group. Categories include top three male and female overall, top male and female first responders, top member and top probationary with a name added to the Lindenhurst Fire Department First Responders Leg Trophy, and top two male and female in age groups 13-16, 17-20, 21-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, and 55 and over.
