Brush Rabbit 5K Run/Walk
The Brush Rabbit 5K Run/Walk is organized by the Chemical and Salvage Co. 2 of the Lindenhurst Fire Department and takes place at the Lindenhurst Fire Department Training Grounds, 555 Heling Blvd., Lindenhurst, NY 11757. Registration is not yet open for the next edition; previous editions and registration details are referenced on the event page.
All registrants receive a post-race medal. The event includes a family area for children and a surprise Easter egg hunt on the course. Personalized race bibs are offered to participants who register at least three weeks in advance. T-shirts are available for purchase. Live online results and results by text or email are provided, and finish-line photos and video are offered free on race day.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, top male and female first responders, top member and top probationary member for the Lindenhurst Fire Department trophy, and top two male and female finishers in age groups 13-16, 17-20, 21-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, and 55 and over.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Chemical and Salvage Co. 2 to support community outreach activities, including youth group programs, a college scholarship award, fire prevention efforts, a Halloween trunk-or-treat, and holiday parade and Santa ride activities.
