Brush Rabbit 5K Run/Walk
The Brush Rabbit 5K Run/Walk is hosted by the Chemical and Salvage Co. 2, Lindenhurst Fire Department, at the Lindenhurst Fire Department Training Grounds, 555 Heling Blvd., Lindenhurst, NY 11757. The event is a fundraising run to support the department's community outreach programs.
The event is family friendly and includes an area for kids to play and a surprise Easter egg hunt on the run route. All registrants receive a post-race medal; personalized bibs are available for participants who register at least three weeks in advance. T-shirts will be offered for purchase.
Timing and results are provided live online, by text, and by email. Free finish-line photos and same-day finish line video are available. Awards are presented for top finishers overall and in age groups, and there are special awards for first responders and department members, including recognition added to the Lindenhurst Fire Department First Responders Leg Trophy.
Bib pickup is managed by event staff on the event day; participants who do not know their bib number can use a self-lookup area. The run serves as a fundraiser to assist the department with youth programs, college scholarships, fire prevention activities, trunk or treat events, holiday parades, and other community outreach throughout the year.
