Brush Rabbit 5K Run/Walk
The Brush Rabbit 5K Run/Walk is a community fundraising event hosted by the Chemical and Salvage Co. 2 of the Lindenhurst Fire Department. It takes place in April at the Lindenhurst Fire Department Training Grounds, 555 Heling Blvd., Lindenhurst, NY 11757. The event features a 5K run/walk.
All registrants receive a post-race medal. The event includes a family area for children and a surprise Easter egg hunt along the route. Live online, email, and text results are provided, and finish-line photos and video are available at no charge. Personalized bibs are offered to those who register at least three weeks in advance. T-shirts will be available for purchase.
Awards recognize top finishers overall and within groups: top three male and female overall; top male and female first responders; top member and top probationary with a name added to the Lindenhurst Fire Department First Responders Leg Trophy; and the top two male and female in age groups 13-16, 17-20, 21-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, and 55+.
This event raises funds to support the Chemical and Salvage Co. 2's community outreach activities, including hosting youth groups, a college scholarship award, fire prevention programs, a Halloween Trunk or Treat, and holiday parade and Santa Ride events.
