Brush Rabbit 5K Run/Walk
The Brush Rabbit 5K Run/Walk is a fundraising event presented by the Chemical and Salvage Co. 2 of the Lindenhurst Fire Department. The event is scheduled for April 11, 2026 in Lindenhurst, NY, and takes place at the Lindenhurst Fire Department training grounds on Heling Boulevard.
The event includes on-course activities for families, such as a children’s play area and a surprise Easter egg hunt along the route. All registrants receive a post-race medal; personalized bibs are provided to those who register at least three weeks before the event. T-shirts are available for purchase. Live online, email, and text results are provided, and free finish-line photos and same-day video are offered.
Awards recognize overall finishers and several categories including the top three men and top three women overall, top men and women first responders, top member and top probationary with names added to the Lindenhurst first responders leg trophy, and top two men and women in age groups 13-16, 17-20, 21-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, and 55 plus.
Bib pickup is managed by event staff and a self-lookup area is available for competitors who do not know their bib number. Proceeds support the department’s community outreach programs such as youth groups, scholarships, fire prevention, and seasonal community events.
