Brush Rabbit 5K Run/Walk
Brush Rabbit is a community 5K run and walk hosted by the Chemical and Salvage Co. 2 of the Lindenhurst Fire Department at the Lindenhurst Fire Department Training Grounds, 555 Heling Blvd., Lindenhurst, NY. Registration is not yet open and will open prior to the event date.
Event amenities include a post-race medal for all registrants, a family area for children, a surprise Easter egg hunt along the route, live online, text and email results, free finish-line photos and video, personalized bibs for those who register at least three weeks in advance, and T-shirts available for purchase.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female overall, the top male and female first responders, the top member and top probationary participant with the top names added to the LFD First Responders Leg Trophy, and the top two male and female in the age groups 13-16, 17-20, 21-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54 and 55+.
The event raises funds for the Chemical and Salvage Co. 2 to support community outreach throughout the year, such as hosting youth groups, a college scholarship award, fire prevention activities, a Halloween trunk or treat, and a holiday parade and Santa ride.
Bib pickup is managed by event staff and a self-lookup area is available for those who do not know their bib number. Additional photos and results are posted online and on social media. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
