Go for the Green 5K Run/Walk
Go for the Green 5K Run/Walk is held in Smithtown with the main venue at Smithtown Elementary School, 51 Lawrence Ave. The event includes a 5K run/walk and a 1 mile family fun run/walk, with online registration and both pre-race and day-of bib pickup options.

The course is USATF certified and described as relatively flat. It runs through residential streets of Smithtown on a police controlled route and includes water stops and mile split timing.
Event amenities include T-shirts for the first 300 registrants, raffle prizes, post-race refreshments including bakery items, and awards. Bringing the race number on race day entitles the bearer to one free draft beer at Napper Tandy's Irish Pub.
Awards are given with trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and medals for the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups, from 12 and under through 80 and older. The 1 mile family fun run provides ribbons for all participants.
Bib pickup is available at Smithtown Running Company before race morning and at Smithtown Elementary School on race day; a Self Lookup station and on-demand text lookup are provided for bib numbers. Results are posted live online, by email and text, with free video and same-day finish line photos and additional event photos shared on social media.
