The event location is Smithtown Elementary School, 51 Lawrence Ave., Smithtown. The 5K uses a USATF certified, relatively flat course through residential streets on a police controlled route and includes water stops and mile splits.
Event amenities described for the prior edition include race shirts for the first 300 registrants, raffle prizes, post race refreshments with bakery items, and a promotion offering one free draft beer at Napper Tandy's Irish Pub to participants who present their race number on race day.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and medals to the top three male and female in age groups. Age categories listed previously run from 12 & Under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, up to 80+; the 1 Mile family run supplies ribbons for all participants.
Bibs were available for pre-race pickup at Smithtown Running Company and for pickup on race morning at Smithtown Elementary School.
