Go for the Green 5K Run/Walk 2027
Go for the Green is presented as a community running event featuring two distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk
The event is scheduled for March 20, 2027 and is located in Smithtown, New York, with primary activity centered at Smithtown Elementary School. The course is USATF certified and described as relatively flat, routed through residential streets on a police controlled course with water stops and mile splits.
Event amenities include T-shirts for the first 300 registrants, professional race announcing, raffles, and post-race refreshments including bakery items. Participants who present their race number at Napper Tandy's Irish Pub receive one free draft beer on race day.
Awards are listed for overall and age-group performance: trophies to the top three overall men and women, medals to the top three in standard age groups from 12 and under up through 80 plus, and ribbons for all participants in the 1 mile family run.
Bibs may be picked up in advance at Smithtown Running Company, 91 E. Main St., Smithtown, NY, and are also available on race morning at Smithtown Elementary School.
