The American Legion Post 14 Birthday Bash 5k takes place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana at American Legion Post 14, 5315 South Lakeshore Drive. The event includes the following distances and options:
- 5k
- 1 Mile Walk or Fun Run
- 1/2 Mile Fun Run (kids 12 and under)
- Sleep-In Supporter
The course runs along Cross Lake on South Lakeshore Drive and starts and ends in the American Legion parking lot. Immediately following the race there will be a birthday celebration with sponsor booths, food, birthday cake and other activities. The event is the inaugural edition and 100% of funds raised support veterans, veteran families, service members and American Legion Post 14.
Logistics and awards
Entry fees listed by the organizer are: 5k $25, 1 Mile Walk or Fun Run $25, 1/2 Mile Kids Run $10, and Sleep-In Supporter $20. Participants who register before Monday, March 2 will receive a performance camo T-shirt with their race packet. Packet pick-up will be available at Sportspectrum on March 12 and March 13, Sportspectrum will bring packets to the American Legion Post on March 10, and race day packets will be available at the race site.
Awards for the 5k include overall male and female winners and medals for 1st place male and female in each age group: 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. The kids run will have overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes. The 1 Mile Walk or Fun Run will not receive prizes. The Sleep-In Supporter option receives the T-shirt and follows the same packet pick-up instructions as other participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
