The Next Loop Endurance Series - Shreveport, LA
The Next Loop is a loop-based endurance running event held on a scenic 3.1-mile (5K) trail loop in Keithville, Louisiana. Runners begin a new loop every hour and may stop after any completed lap; every finished loop is recorded and counts toward the final result.
Loop timing is recorded for each lap and the overall score is the combined time of all completed loops. There are no penalties for stopping and no missed-cutoff failures for the hourly format. A central base area serves as the start and finish for each loop and an aid station is available each hour.
The format is intended to support multiple uses: newcomers can complete single loops or a few loops without a fixed-distance commitment; more experienced athletes can track loop-by-loop pacing, recovery, and consistency. A separate 50-mile challenge runs alongside the hourly series as a continuous race with its own start, rules, and results.
Distances by loops
- 1 Loop = 5K
- 2 Loops = 10K
- 4 Loops = Half Marathon
- 9 Loops = Marathon
- 10 Loops = 50K
Official timing and posted results allow loop-level analysis and ranking by loops completed and combined time. The course is clearly marked and designed to be crew- and family-friendly. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
