Timberneck Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser
The event is the 6th annual Timberneck Turkey Trot, hosted by the Fairfield Foundation at Machicomoco State Park in Gloucester, Virginia. The main course is a scenic, flat, paved 3.1 Miles loop. Water stations are available at the start and finish area and at the halfway point. Public restrooms are located near the race finish.
Proceeds support the restoration of the Timberneck House, the c.1793 Catlett family home overlooking the York River, with the aim of converting the house for learning, lodging, and public programs. Registration is online only and includes the $5 state park entrance fee. Registrations after 11/9/26 cannot be guaranteed an event shirt.
All registrants receive a race t-shirt and a swag bag when shirts are available; medals are awarded to overall top finishers and to top finishers in specific age categories. Participants 16 and older require a registration fee; children under 16 may race for free but will not receive a race shirt unless purchased separately.
A Kids Fun Run of 800 meters is held before the 5K and is for children 10 and under; Kids Fun Run participants receive a race shirt and a kids medal. There is also a Sleep In Supporter option; supporters receive an event shirt after the event but are not assigned a bib and are not eligible for awards.
