Girls on the Run East Central Ohio Fall 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run East Central Ohio Fall 5K Celebration is the council’s end-of-season 5K held on November 7, 2026 at Jackson North Park. The event serves as a concluding experience for program teams and provides a tangible sense of accomplishment for participants. The course distance is 3.1 miles and all registered finishers receive a commemorative medal.
The council describes the event as inclusive and accessible. Participants may walk, run, roll or push the course at their own pace, designated parking is available, and a Running Buddy is assigned or may be provided by a parent or guardian to accompany a participant for the full course. A virtual 5K option is also available for those who complete the distance from a location of their choice.
Community members, family and friends may register separately; program participants and coaches are already registered through the council and do not need to register. Online registration pricing windows are listed with early, regular and late rates; late registrants may not be guaranteed a shirt. Packet pickup for community participants is scheduled for November 4 at the Girls on the Run office in downtown Canton and November 6 at Jackson North Park.
The event includes additional activities such as face painting, happy hair, bling your bib, merchandise sales and a mascot race. Volunteers support setup, course marshaling, water and cheer stations and may be subject to background checks. The council maintains event safety procedures including bib requirements, course monitoring and a safety plan for staff and volunteers.
