Girls on the Run East Central Ohio Fall 2026 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run East Central Ohio 5K is an end-of-season, celebratory event held on November 7, 2026 at Jackson North Park. The event serves as the season’s culminating 5K for Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole program participants and as a community 5K open to family, friends and other community members who register.
The course is a 5K (3.1 miles). Every registered participant who completes the 5K receives a commemorative medal. The council provides race bibs and assigns a Running Buddy to accompany participants for the entire course; parent or guardian running buddies are encouraged. Program participants and coaches are pre-registered and receive bibs and shirts from their coach. Community participants may collect race bibs and shirts at packet pickup on November 4 and November 6 at the Girls on the Run office in downtown Canton and at Jackson North Park.
Safety measures include mandatory race bibs, course monitoring, head counts and an established safety plan with trained staff and volunteers. The event is described as accessible for people with disabilities and offers designated parking. A virtual 5K option is available; virtual participants still complete 3.1 miles. Additional event features include face painting, bling-your-bib and happy hair stations, merchandise for sale, and volunteer roles such as course marshals and water stations.
