About the race
The Canton RUCK RUN 5K takes place on November 7, 2026, at Plain Township Memorial Park in Canton, Ohio, and is organized to honor military service and support local veterans. The event includes timed and untimed options, a memorial walk, team participation, and categories for veterans and students.
Distances
- 5K
- 1 mile
The main 5K has timed race categories with awards presented after the final timed participants complete the course. A Veteran registration category is reserved for veterans and active duty military members; eligible veterans may take part in the timed awards. A Student category is open to students from elementary school through college and allows parents or guardians to accompany younger participants as needed.
TEAM RUCK is a group category where teams move together over the 5K course without timing. Teams may ruck weighted or unweighted, consist of two or more participants, and are encouraged to finish together. Each team member registers individually and a team captain is optional.
The Memorial Mile Walk is a noncompetitive mile through the Veterans Memorial. It is a quiet, intentional walk without timing and includes volunteer support to assist elderly and disabled veterans.
All finishers receive a 2026 Canton Ruck Run 5K finisher medal. Tribute signs are available for purchase at $30 each; signs include a veteran name and branch and are displayed along the course. Proceeds benefit local veterans service organizations including the SAM Center and the Veterans Service Commission. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
