Funest 50k @ Carter Rd : Mulberry, FL
The event takes place April 17, 2027 at Loyce E. Harpe Park in Mulberry, FL and is organized by Ultra Ultras Events. The courses use established mountain bike trails through an old, abandoned phosphate mine area and run on sand and dirt surfaces with rolling hills and tight turns.
Distances
- 50k five 10k loops on the mountain bike trails
- 30k three 10k loops on the mountain bike trails
- 10k single 10k loop on the mountain bike trails
The 10k loop is marked with more than 600 course markers. There is an aid station around the 3.5 mile point, and electrolytes, soda and water are available at the start area. The event uses a 10 hour cutoff, which corresponds to a 19:20 per mile pace.
Field size is limited to 125 runners for the 10k, 30k and 50k in 2027. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women and to the first masters man and woman. Every finisher receives socks, a finisher sticker and an award. Ten dollars from each registration is designated for Polk County Parks and Recreation to help maintain the park.
Bib pickup and the race shelter are located at the Loyce E. Harpe Park entrance shelter. Food is provided at the start and finish area including quesadillas, hot dogs, hamburgers, bacon and other items. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
