The Funest 50k at Carter Rd takes place on April 18, 2026, at Loyce E. Harpe Park, 300 W Carter Rd, Mulberry, FL. The event offers the following distances:
- 50k
- 30k
- 10k
Entry is limited to 100 runners across the 10k, 30k, and 50k fields. Awards will be presented to the top three overall men and women and to the first masters man and woman. Every finisher receives socks, a finisher sticker, and an award. Ten dollars from each registration is donated to Polk County Parks and Recreation to support park maintenance.
Course and race details
Courses use the park’s mountain bike trails through an old, abandoned phosphate mine area. The surface is sand and dirt with rolling hills; the loop design is a 10k circuit, with three loops for the 30k and five loops for the 50k. The route is clearly marked with more than 600 markers. Some sections may prevent runners from maintaining a 10-minute-per-mile pace. Aid includes electrolytes, soda, and water at the start area and an aid station near the 3.5-mile point. A 10-hour overall cutoff is in place (noted as a 19:20 per mile pace). Bib pickup and the start are at park facilities near the entrance. Food at the start and finish area includes quesadillas, hot dogs, hamburgers, bacon, and additional options for longer-distance participants.
