Funest 50k @ Carter Rd : Mulberry, FL : April 17, 2027
This trail race at Loyce E. Harpe Park in Mulberry, Florida, offers three distances run on mountain bike trails that pass through an old phosphate mine area. The course uses sand and dirt singletrack with rolling hills and tight turns; the organizer describes multiple sections where pace slows significantly. The route is marked with more than 600 markers and is laid out as a 10k loop.
Course and support:
- Aid station around the 3.5 mile point.
- Electrolytes, soda and water available at the start area and aid station.
- 10 hour cutoff for the 50k, equivalent to a 19:20 per mile pace.

- Event limited to 125 runners across the 10k, 30k and 50k fields for 2027.
- Bib pickup and the start/finish are located at the park shelter on the park entry road.
- Awards for Top 3 overall male and female plus first masters male and female.
- Every finisher receives socks, a finisher sticker and an award.
- Ten dollars from each registration is allocated to Polk County Parks and Recreation to support park maintenance.
