Your Next Step is the Cure 5K
The event is the ninth annual Your Next Step is the Cure 5K, held in Plant City at 100 Alderman's Ford Park Dr. It offers an in-person 5K race and a virtual 5K option. Registration opens April 1, 2026 and closes November 4, 2026. The registration fee is $35.00.
Proceeds will benefit uveal melanoma research at Moffitt Cancer Center and associated research laboratories. The organizing group has established an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to support this work.
The in-person 5K is chip timed. All 5K runners and walkers receive a finisher medal and a shirt. Awards are planned for the top three male and top three female finishers in each of the following age groups: 8-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and above.
