Your Next Step is the Cure 5K
Your Next Step is the Cure 5K takes place on Saturday December 5, 2026 at Alderman’s Ford Park in Plant City, Florida. The event is in its ninth year of raising awareness and funds for ocular melanoma, a rare cancer that affects six out of one million people each year and for which there is currently no known cure.
The event program includes these distances:
- 5K Run
- Virtual Run 5K
Both events are open to ages 8 to 100. Each listed event has an entry fee of $35 and registration opens June 1, 2026 at 12:00am EDT.
Event features and services include a chip timed 5K, awards for the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age groups: 8-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and above. All 5K runners and walkers receive a finisher medal and a shirt. The event also offers free race photos, exhibitors and raffle items, and an awards ceremony. A race route PDF is available.
