Long Haul Course Preview
This is a course preview and training run on December 5, 2026, at Colt Creek State Park in Lakeland, FL. The event is organized by A1 Ultra Events and takes place near 16000 State Road 471.
The route is a single loop of 16.8 miles. The course will be marked with signs at major turns and with additional confidence flags until 1 pm. Participants may run beyond the loop, but course markers, signs, and water stops will begin to be removed at 1 pm; after that navigation is the responsibility of each participant.
A group campground will be reserved for Friday night for those who wish to camp. The campground is primitive tent camping only with no water or electricity.
On-course hydration is limited. Water will be available at the run start and at the two on-course aid locations used during the race. All of these stops will be unstaffed and provide water only. Participants should bring food and electrolytes and plan to leave drop bags or coolers in their vehicles, as the park is open to the public.
There is a park entry fee of $3 per person or $4 per vehicle. Registration for the preview closes on December 3, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
