Long Haul Course Preview - Dec 5, 2026
This event is a course preview and training run for the 2027 LH100 held at Colt Creek State Park in Lakeland, FL, located at 16000 State Road 471. The preview consists of one marked loop of 16.8 miles. The course will have signs at major turns and a few confidence flags until 1 pm.
Organizers will place a few unstaffed water-only stations: water will be available at the run start and at two on-course aid locations. Participants should bring food and electrolytes and plan to leave drop bags or coolers in their vehicles, since the park is open to the public and personal items may need to be secured. After 1 pm, course markers, signs, and water stops will begin to be removed; participants remaining on course after that time must rely on memory or CalTopo.
A group campground will be reserved on the night before the run. The campground is primitive, tent camping only, and offers no water or electricity. Entry to Colt Creek State Park requires a fee of $3 per person or $4 per vehicle. Registration for the course preview closes on Thu, Dec 3 at 11:59 PM ET.
