Freedom Run - The Race Against Poverty

The Freedom Run is the 10th annual running event that offers a professionally timed run and walk. It includes two distance options:

  • 5 km
  • 10 km

The event takes place at Wesley Chapel District Park, 7321 Boyette Rd, 33569. Each participant receives a finisher medal. The race awards first place trophies for overall male and female finishers and first-place awards in age groups.

Net proceeds from the event are used to fund housing and related facilities for people living in abject poverty. Past building projects supported by the event include homes in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, The Philippines, and El Salvador, and organizers are also working toward building homes in the United States.

The event is described as timed and structured to record results for participants. Registration and check-in are part of event operations on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
