Event overview
Girls on the Run Greater Tampa Bay holds a season closing 5K Celebration at Al Lopez Park in Tampa on Saturday, November 21, 2026. The event serves as the culminating celebration for girls who completed the eight week Girls on the Run or Heart & Sole program and is open to the public. Participants who complete the 5K receive a commemorative medal and an event t shirt.
Format and access

The course is described as accessible for people with disabilities; participants may walk, run, push, or roll at their own pace. Strollers are permitted on the course and children ages four and younger do not need to register. Pets are not allowed in Celebration Village or on the 5K course.
Every participant must wear an event run bib. The council assigns running buddies to ensure a safe experience; a Running Buddy is an individual 16 years or older who accompanies a participant for the full course. Community volunteers called Sparklers are adults 18 years or older, help on course roles and must have a cleared background check on file.
Additional event elements include warm up activities, water stations, cheer stations, merchandise for sale, happy hair and Bling Your Bib stations, and the option to purchase themed spirit signs that are displayed along the route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
