Event Overview
The Tampa Sister Cities 5K Run/Walk is an inaugural community event held at Gadsden Park in Tampa, Florida. This event commemorates the 60th anniversary of the partnership between Tampa and Barranquilla, Colombia. Organized by Tampa Sister Cities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the gathering serves to support cultural exchange, education, and international diplomacy through fitness and community engagement.

Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Run/Walk
Participant Amenities and Awards
The 5 km race is a chip-timed event. Participants in this distance receive a custom medal and a T-shirt. Those participating in the 1 Mile distance receive a custom T-shirt. Please note that T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations made after April 16, 2026.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, first-place awards are given to the fastest male and female runners in various age categories, ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. Group recognition is available for the largest participating team, the fastest group based on the average time of at least four runners, and the team demonstrating the best spirit or attire.

The venue features cultural booths and activities organized by Tampa’s Sister City committees and cultural organizations. These displays showcase the traditions and programs unique to Tampa's international partnerships, creating an environment focused on global connection and community pride.
