Tampa Sister Cities 5K Run/Walk
The Tampa Sister Cities 5K Run/Walk is an inaugural community event held at Gadsden Park in Tampa, Florida. This event commemorates the 60th anniversary of the partnership between Tampa and Barranquilla, Colombia. The gathering serves to highlight international collaboration and cultural exchange through the Tampa Sister Cities program.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km (chip-timed)
- 1 mile
The event features cultural booths and activities provided by various Sister City committees and cultural organizations, showcasing international traditions and programs. It functions as a fundraiser for the Tampa Sister Cities 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to support future cultural exchanges and educational initiatives.
All participants receive a custom medal and a T-shirt, though T-shirt availability is only guaranteed for those who register by April 16, 2026. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as first-place finishers in age categories ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. Additionally, group awards are recognized for the largest crew, best team spirit, and the fastest team based on the average time of at least four runners.
