Freedom Four 4 Mile Run/Walk
Freedom Four is a 4 mile run and walk held at Lake Ellyn Park in Glen Ellyn, Illinois on July 4, 2026. The event is presented by the Glen Ellyn Park District. A portion of proceeds benefits the Friends of Glen Ellyn Parks Scholarship Fund, which supports reduced-cost recreation and athletic programs for families in need.
The course starts and finishes at Lake Ellyn Park. Awards are given to the top two male and female finishers in each age division. The event is open to participants ages 5 and up.
Registration is offered in tiered pricing: early bird through June 23, regular from June 24 to July 3, and day of race on July 4. T-shirts are guaranteed for early bird registrants; later registrants receive shirts while supplies last.
Packet pick-up is available at Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center on June 29 through July 1 for those registered prior to July 2. Participants who register after July 2 can pick up packets at Lake Ellyn Park on race day during the posted packet pick-up period.
There is no parking on Lenox Road or the roads immediately surrounding Lake Ellyn Park. Commuter parking lots remain open and limited parking is available in the Glenbard West lot across from Duchon Field. All posted signage and parking restrictions should be observed.
