Freedom Four : 4 Mile Run/Walk
Freedom Four is a four mile run and walk held on July 4, 2026 at Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Road, Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The event is presented by the Glen Ellyn Park District and uses Lake Ellyn Park as the start and finish location.
The event is open to ages 5 and up. A portion of event proceeds supports the Friends of Glen Ellyn Parks Scholarship Fund, which helps families access recreation and athletic programs.
Awards are given to the top two male and female finishers in each age division and are presented immediately following the race. T shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by the early bird deadline of June 20, 2026; later registrants receive shirts while supplies last.
Packet pick up is available at Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center, 800 St. Charles Road, Glen Ellyn, on June 29 through July 1 for those registered prior to July 2. Participants who register after July 2 may pick up packets on race day at Lake Ellyn Park.
There is no parking on Lenox Road or the roads surrounding Lake Ellyn Park. Commuter parking lots remain open and limited parking will be available in the Glenbard West lot across from Duchon Field; all cars must be removed from that lot by 10:00 a.m. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
