Freedom Four
Freedom Four is a community 4 Mile Run/Walk held on July 4, 2026 at Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Road, Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The event is presented by the Glen Ellyn Park District and benefits the Friends of Glen Ellyn Parks Scholarship Fund, which helps provide reduced-cost recreation and athletic programs for families in need.
The event distance is 4 Mile. The race is open to participants ages 5 and up. Start and finish lines are located at Lake Ellyn Park. Awards are presented to the top two male and female finishers in each age division immediately following the race.
Registration includes tiered fees that change by date: early bird, regular, and day-of pricing. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register by the early bird deadline of June 20, 2026; registrants after that date receive shirts while supplies last. Participants who register prior to July 2 may pick up race packets at Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center in the days before the event; later registrants may pick up packets on race day at Lake Ellyn Park.
There is no parking on Lenox Road or the roads immediately surrounding Lake Ellyn Park. Commuter parking lots and the Civic Center parking garage remain open, and limited parking may be available in the Glenbard West lot across from Duchon Field.
