Forres Harriers 10k 2026
The Forres Harriers 10k is a road running event that incorporates the North District 10k Championships. The course begins at the Waterford Industrial Estate and follows a flat and fast route along rural roads. This specific course layout was introduced in 2023 with amended start and finish locations compared to older versions of the race. Due to road conditions and safety requirements, the course is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Participants are required to register at the Forres House Community Centre on the High Street. From the registration point, the start line is approximately a 20-minute walk away. Accessing the start requires using the road bridge to the left of the railway station or the small bridge at the station, as the railway crossing is closed.
Because the route uses narrow rural roads that remain open to traffic, specific safety regulations are in place. The use of any type of headphones is strictly prohibited to comply with insurance requirements from Scottish Athletics. There are no water stations provided along the course, so individuals must provide their own hydration.
The event has a maximum capacity of 150 participants. Parking is not permitted at the start or finish areas or on surrounding roads; however, several free car parks are available within the town of Forres for those arriving by vehicle.
