Event Overview
The Croy 10k is a 10 km road race that takes place on the first Sunday of June. It is a Scottish Athletics approved event that uses chip timing.
Course and Route
The course is a Scottish Athletics approved route that is entirely on public roads; it is not a closed road race. The race starts at Croy Village Hall in Croy and runs out towards Clephanton. The route follows scenic country roads down towards Loch Flemington before returning to finish in Croy Village at Pure Bakery. An aid station with water is provided at the 5 km point, and there is lively music along the route.
Event Details
Registration and bib collection take place at Croy Village Hall on the morning of the event. Parking is managed due to limited space, and car sharing is encouraged. Changing facilities and toilets are available at the village hall, where runners may also leave bags. The finish area features a coffee vendor, water, and nearby bakery and cafe. Basic free refreshments and cake are provided at the finish.
Rules and Logistics
Participants must be 16 years or older on race day. The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs, and running with buggies or pets is not permitted. Only bone-conducting headphones are allowed. The event has a cut-off time of 1 hour and 45 minutes, after which course support is withdrawn. An early start wave is available for those anticipating a finish time longer than 1 hour and 10 minutes. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers (based on gun time) and to the first finisher in each subsequent age category. All finishers receive a bespoke medal. There are no bib transfers, deferrals, or refunds unless the race is cancelled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
