Grantown Try Tri
The Grantown Try Tri takes place on 16 May 2027 in Grantown-on-Spey, the capital of Strathspey in the Cairngorms National Park. The event is mainly targeted at novices and is open to individuals and to teams of two or three.
Distances and stages include:
- Swim: 300 metres in a 20 metre pool, 2 or 3 competitors per lane
- Cycle: 16 km circuit round the Grantown Braes through highland scenery
- Run: 4.8 km through Anagach Community woods, mostly off road
The individual race has a minimum age of 11 on race day. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult on the cycle stage and may enter as part of a team. A junior team category is available for entrants aged 18 or under. Teams may be of two or three members and the team relay typically assigns one discipline to each team member.
The cycle route is signposted and marshalled by static volunteers and Inverness Radio Volunteer cars with first aid training. The run route includes minor road crossings and is marshalled. Parental consent is required for entrants aged 17 or under and is collected on the day as part of the race pack. Refunds and substitutions are not offered; entrants may arrange their own insurance through the online entry system.
