Race Distances and Key Facts
The event features two ultra-distance trail races along the Moray coast in Scotland:
- 50 Mile Ultra: Approximately 80 km with 910 m of elevation gain.
- 50K Ultra: Approximately 50 km with 580 m of elevation gain.
Both races finish at the Cullen Viaduct. A cut-off time of 16 hours applies for the 50-mile race and 10 hours for the 50K.
Course and Route
The route follows a coastal trail combining forest paths, clifftop trails, sandy beaches, and passes through fishing villages. The 50-mile race starts in Findhorn, while the 50K race starts in Lossiemouth.
Logistics and Support
Official race buses transport runners from the finish area in Cullen to their respective start lines. Parking is available in Cullen. The event provides several fully stocked aid stations along the course, and drop bags are available at designated checkpoints. Live race tracking is in place.
Rules and Requirements
All runners must carry mandatory kit, including a waterproof jacket, emergency blanket, fluids, food, and a mobile phone. The event operates a strict no-litter policy. Support crews are only permitted at official aid stations, and pacing is not allowed. Medical support is available at the start, finish, and key points on the course.
At the Finish
Finishers receive a medal. Post-race refreshments are available at the finish in Cullen, and there are local food and drink options nearby. Prizes are awarded to the top overall finishers in each race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
