Top to Toe 5K
The Top to Toe 5K is a point to point road race in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, held on October 24, 2026. The course transitions from dirt to pavement, beginning at The Quartz Corp Chalk Mountain and ending at Lower Street in Spruce Pine.
A shuttle will transport participants from Lower Street to the race start on race morning; no packet pickup or registrations are allowed after the last shuttle departs. Parking is available on Lower Street and in the surrounding downtown area.
Packet pickup is available the day before the event and on race day at designated downtown locations. Restrooms are provided in the Lower Street courtyard and race village, and at the Chalk Mountain mine start line. Walkers are permitted but must finish within two hours.
Registration fees vary by age: children 11 and under register for free, ages 12 to 18 pay $20, and adults pay $35 through September 30, 2026, then $40 from October 1, 2026 and on race day. High school team discounts are available through school athletic directors. Each registered participant receives a free t shirt.
Awards are presented by gender and age bracket with first through third place medals in these brackets: 11 and under, 12 to 15, 16 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 to 69 plus. A top prize trophy is awarded to the leading school team. Proceeds benefit the Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
