Course and race rules

All courses use short, repeatable loops inside the state park and are marked and staffed by volunteers. Swim details: a 2,112 foot (644 m) out-and-back loop with a 1,056 foot (322 m) swim line; loop counts vary by distance. Lake depth is no greater than 8 to 9 feet and average water temperatures have been 65 to 70 degrees, so wetsuits are recommended. Swim equipment restrictions prohibit flotation devices, flippers, and fins; athletes must wear the provided swim cap.

Bike details: a 6.009 mile (9.670 km) out-and-back loop. Bikes must have an approved helmet, no drafting is allowed, headphones are prohibited, and adequate lights are required for night riding. The course was measured with a Jones Counter.

Run details: a 1.00769 mile (1.621719 km) paved loop with required personal lighting and rear visibility lights after dark. Crew support is permitted in the athlete village but not on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
