SoCal's Sunset Trick or Trot 5K/10K : Huntington Beach, CA
SoCal's Sunset Trick or Trot is an evening Halloween-themed running event held at Bolsa Chica State Beach, Lot 25 (17851 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach, CA 92648). The event includes multiple race distances for adults and children and features a Trunk-or-Treat Expo and family-oriented activities occurring earlier in the day.
Distances offered:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.21 miles)
- Youth 1/2 mile zombie run
- Pumpkin Dash 200 yards for very young children
The course is described as flat, paved, and scenic with ocean views, with start and finish in Lot 25. Timing is provided with RFID chip timing by Itz About Time. Registered participants receive a fall-themed event shirt, a reversible finisher medal, and a trick-or-treat bag; only registered participants with bibs are eligible for medals.
Awards include top three in five-year age divisions, top three overall male and female finishers, costume awards including best Halloween costume and best uniform-themed costume, and recognition for oldest and youngest finishers. The event is pet and stroller friendly; leashed pets are permitted with a maximum 5 ft leash and strollers are asked to start near the back. Parking options include parking in nearby Sunset Beach or entering via the Bolsa Chica State Beach main gate, which charges an entrance fee.
