Event Overview

This is the Firefighter 5k, a prediction run. The inaugural event is organized by Bold Coast Runners and takes place at the Pembroke fire station. It is not a race against others, but a personal pacing challenge. Runners predict their finish time for a 5k course, and the participant who finishes closest to their predicted time wins a $100 gift certificate.

Course and Location

The 5k course features rolling hills and provides views of Cobscook Bay and the Penamaquan River. The start and finish is at the Pembroke fire station on 6 Liberty Hill Road. The fire station will be open before and after the run, providing a space for warmth and gathering. Homemade bagels will be available, and participants are welcome to bring a small dish.

Format and Registration

The event is free to enter but donations are graciously accepted for the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department, with a suggested amount of $20. Participants must register online in advance. During registration, runners must predict their 5k finish time. Runners are allowed to have a watch or phone but are encouraged to keep it out of sight.
