Course and format

The course consists of vehicle-free park gravel roads marked with arrows at intersections. The 50K format uses ten 5 km loops. The 50 mile format uses twelve 4.167 mile loops; this loop overlaps the 5K loop with an extra 0.57 km out-and-back. Participants follow modified Backyard Ultra protocols by completing one loop each hour; a 5-minute warning bell sounds before each lap. A runner or a team must have one member on the start line at the hour to continue. A clock and timing sheet will be on site for participants to record loop times.

Logistics and facilities

There are multiple outhouses along the course but no running water or showers. There are no aid stations, official support, medals, or awards. Participants should bring their own supplies, shelter, and chairs. Until May 15 the park is closed to vehicles, so parking is outside the park gate and gear must be carried about 300 meters to the start/finish area. Priority for entry is given to individual runners, then two-person teams, then three-person teams. Course maps and GPX files are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
