Event Overview
The Fifth Street Runspringa Series is a six-week evening event held on Thursdays from early March to early April at Wayne Grube Memorial Park in Northampton, Pennsylvania. It features off-road running and cyclocross racing on the same mixed-terrain course of grass, dirt, and park trails.
Event Format
Participants can choose to run, ride, or do both ("Double Cross") each week. The running race involves completing two laps of the course, while the cyclocross race involves five laps on the same layout. The course direction alternates each week. A single $20 entry fee provides access to either the run or ride event for that evening; participants can do both with one entry.
Schedule & Registration
The series runs weekly. Onsite registration is available each week, accepting cash, credit cards, and Venmo. A discounted rate of $10 per race is offered for juniors aged 16 and under. A full series "Season Pass" is also available for $99.
Venue & Details
Parking is available onsite at the park. Because the cyclocross races start at 7 PM, front or handlebar lights are required for all riders. After the races, organizers provide grilled food items and complimentary beer for participants aged 21 and over.
Awards
Points are awarded weekly to the top 15 finishers, with bonus points for inclement weather. The overall series winner in each category (run, ride, Double Cross) is the participant in fifth place after the final race. Separate podiums and scoring are maintained for Overall and Women's categories. A season-end awards ceremony is held after the final race.
