Athletic Brewing Company Fairfield Road Races
This multi-day sporting event takes place in Fairfield, Connecticut, with activities centered around Jennings Beach. The schedule features a variety of running events distributed across a single weekend in June.
Participants can choose from several distinct distances and formats:
- Half Marathon: A 13.1 mile certified course.
- 5K: A 3.1 mile certified course.
- Lucas Challenge: A combined event covering 16.2 miles over 24 hours.
- Athletic Brewing Beer Mile: A 1 mile race consisting of four laps.
- Lil' Stags Kids Fun Run: A 0.5 mile distance for younger participants.
The Beer Mile requires runners to consume one 12 oz non-alcoholic beer at the start of each of the four laps. Infrastructure for the longer races includes 11 water stations for the half marathon and two stations for the 5K, with mile clocks and medical personnel stationed throughout the courses. Music and cheer groups are positioned along the routes to support those participating.
All participants receive technical running shirts, and those finishing the half marathon receive a commemorative medal. The event concludes with a beach party at Jennings Beach featuring live music, food, beverages, and an awards ceremony. Race packets can be picked up at the Fairfield University Bookstore on select days or mailed for an additional fee if registered by the designated deadline.
