Fairfield Road Races
The Fairfield Road Races take place June 5 and June 6 at Jennings Beach in Fairfield, Connecticut. The event program includes multiple races and a kids fun run.
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
- 5K - 5 kilometers
- Lucas Challenge - combined 16.2 miles (half plus 5K)
- Athletic Brewing Beer Mile - 1 mile with four non-alcoholic beers
- Lil' Stags Kids Fun Run - 0.5 mile
Courses are certified and feature clocks at every mile. The half marathon course has 11 water stations and the 5K course has 2 water stations. Medical personnel are positioned both along the courses and at the beach. Bands and cheer groups are located along the half marathon and 5K routes.
All participants receive technical running shirts. Half marathon finishers receive a commemorative finisher medal. The Athletic Brewing Beer Mile requires competitors to consume one non-alcoholic 12 oz Athletic Brewing Beer at the start of each of the four laps, totaling four beers during the race. The Lucas Challenge pairs the half marathon and 5K for a combined distance of 16.2 miles; the event materials reference a 24 hour completion window.
Packet mailing is available for an additional $15 if requested by May 29. Early packet pick-up is held at the Fairfield University Bookstore in Fairfield Center with set pickup times on the days before and during the event. Due to safety concerns, wheelchairs are not allowed on the half marathon course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
