York 5K (NOV '26)
The Even Splits York 5K takes place at the University of York Sport Village cycle circuit and is held monthly from February to November. The event is a road race over 5 kilometres, run as five laps of a flat circuit that is promoted as a fast course for personal best attempts. The field is limited to 200 entries.
Two races are held on the same evening: an Open race available to all runners, and a Super Sprint race restricted to male runners with a predicted time of 17 minutes or under and female runners with a predicted time of 19 minutes or under. Runners who meet Super Sprint criteria may choose either race.
Races are chip timed and results are published on Power of 10. Finish-line results are sent by text and kilometre splits are published the next day. A small postrace refreshment is provided at the finish.
Entry fees are shown as £10 for affiliated single race entries and £12 for unaffiliated single race entries for both Open and Super Sprint categories. Entry on the day is not available. First time entrants are issued a race number with an embedded timing chip that can be used at York and Leeds 5K events; that number is collected from Registration. Previously issued RED 5K numbers from 2020 to 2025 may be reused if recorded on the entry form. One free number replacement is allowed per 12 month period thereafter replacements cost £4.
Facilities at Race HQ include water, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage. Entrants may defer a place once to the next race in the same calendar year if requested at least three days before race day. Places are non refundable and cannot be transferred.
