Chase The Pud 10K
Chase The Pud takes place on Sunday 6 December 2026 at The Knavesmire, York Racecourse. The event is organised by the British Heart Foundation and run by the BHF York Fundraising Group, which has organised the event for around 20 years to raise funds for heart and circulatory research.
The main event is a chip timed 10 km road race on a flat course comprising 3 and 1/3 laps. The race has an entry limit of 300 and is not suitable for wheelchairs. A related untimed 3 km distance is available for those who prefer to walk, jog or run at a non-competitive pace.
Practical details include Race HQ at York Knavesmire Service Track near the Knavesmire Road entrance and a separate race start at Cherry Lane, which is about a 1 km walk from HQ after number collection. Facilities listed are toilets, distance markers and water stations at 1 km and 4 km. There are no changing rooms or showers and no formal baggage storage, though bags may be left at the event gazebos at the owner’s risk. On-the-day entries may not be guaranteed a Santa outfit.
Participants are invited to wear Santa outfits; sizes offered include adult one size, youth and child sizes. There is no lower age limit but under 11s must be within arms reach of an adult.
