About the race
Chase The Pud 3K takes place on Sunday 6th December 2026 at The Knavesmire, York. The listing is for a 3 km road race on a flat, one-lap course; it is not suitable for wheelchairs. Entry is limited to 300 places and the listing shows places remaining.
The event is organised by the British Heart Foundation York Fundraising Group, which has run Chase The Pud York for around 20 years. A separate 10 km race is also available at the same meeting. Participants are invited to wear Santa suits; suit sizes offered are adult one size, youth (suitable for teens or small adults around size 12), and child. Suits are collected on the day from Race HQ, located near the Knavesmire Road entrance.
Children have no lower age limit but remain the responsibility of parents or guardians at all times; under 11s must be within arms reach of an adult during the race. Facilities listed include distance markers and toilets. There is no formal baggage storage, though bags may be left at the gazebos at participants' own risk. Changing rooms and showers are not available.
Entry fees shown are £10.00 for an individual 3K entry and £40.00 for a team entry of up to five people; an on-the-day fee may apply if the event has not sold out.
