Even Splits York 5K (October 2026)
Even Splits stages monthly 5 kilometre races at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit, running from February to November. The event is promoted as the flattest, fastest 5K race in Yorkshire and is held on a flat, road circuit.
The course is 5 kilometres, run as five laps. The race is chip timed and EA licensed, with results appearing on Power of 10. Finish-line texts are sent to competitors as they cross, and kilometre splits are published the next day. Entrants receive a chocolate bar at the finish. A race number with an embedded timing chip is issued on first entry and can be reused at York and Leeds 5K events; previously issued red numbers from 2020–2025 may be used again in 2026. All entrants are entitled to one free number replacement in a 12 month period; subsequent replacements are charged at £4.
Facilities at Race HQ include water, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage. The Race HQ is at University of York Sport Village, Cycle Circuit, Heslington East, Lakeside Way, York YO10 5FG. The entry limit is 200 places, with 158 places noted as remaining. The race licence is applied for and the event is listed as suitable for wheelchairs.
Entry fees shown include race fees, card charges and administration. Entry on the day is not available. A one time deferral is allowed to the next race in the same calendar year if requested at least three days before race day. No refunds are offered and race places cannot be transferred.
