EvenSplits York 5k

The York 5k is a road running event held at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit. The course is located in Heslington East and consists of 5 km over five laps of the circuit. The route is characterized by a flat profile, designed for fast times.

Participants compete on a dedicated cycle circuit that provides a smooth surface for racing. The event is chip-timed and held under an EA license, ensuring that results are officially recognized and appear on the Power of 10 rankings. Runners receive their finishing times via text message immediately after completing the race, while detailed kilometre splits are made available the following day.

The event capacity is limited to 200 entrants, and registration must be completed in advance as there is no entry available on the day. Runners are issued a race number with an embedded timing chip during their first appearance, which can be reused for subsequent races in the series. Facilities at the race headquarters include toilets and water stations. However, there are no changing facilities, showers, or baggage storage areas available on-site. Participants receive a chocolate bar upon crossing the finish line.
