York 5K (October 2026)
The Even Splits York 5K is a monthly chip-timed 5 kilometre road race held at the University of York Sport Village cycle circuit. The course is flat and run as five laps of the circuit, with distance markers and water provided on course. Results are sent by text as runners cross the line, kilometre splits are published the next day, and results appear on Power of 10. The race is listed with a race licence as applied for and is noted as suitable for wheelchairs.
Entry is limited to 200 places. Single-race entry prices are listed for affiliated and unaffiliated runners, and a race pass covering multiple dates is also offered for October to November. Entrants receive a race number with an embedded timing chip on first entry; this number can be reused at York and Leeds 5K events. Previously issued red 5K numbers from 2020–25 may be reused if recorded on the entry. One free replacement number is allowed in a 12 month period; further replacements are charged.
Race facilities at the Sport Village include toilets but there are no changing facilities, showers or baggage storage. The race headquarters address is University of York Sport Village, Cycle Circuit, Heslington East, Lakeside Way, York YO10 5FG. Entry on the day is not available. Deferral and refund policies: a place may be deferred once to the next race in the calendar year if requested at least three days before race day; there are no refunds and places cannot be transferred.
