Event overview
The Altra Yorkshire 10 mile takes place in the city of York on Sunday 18 October 2026, with the start line at the University of York. The race is held on the same day as the Altra Yorkshire Marathon. Entrants must be 18 years or over. The event uses chip timing and includes a finisher’s goody bag, an exclusive medal, and an option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt and iTAB engraving for the medal.
On-the-day services and logistics
An Event Village will offer food and drink for purchase and host partner charities. Water stations on course provide 330 ml bottles; High5 energy stations will supply Zero tabs and energy gels. Recycling bins are provided at each water station and bins are placed across the site. A designated Baggage Store requires the tear-off strip from the race number to be tied to the bag before check-in. Clothing left at the start will be collected and donated unless checked into baggage.
Pacers sponsored by Arla Protein will run with flags showing target finish times. Toilets are located around the stadium; misuse of facilities may lead to disqualification. Medical personnel will be positioned at regular intervals, with fixed first aid stations near water stations, a first aid unit and recovery area near the start and finish, and roaming first aiders in the Event Village. MarathonPhotos will take event photographs for purchase. Results will be published on the event website soon after the race.
Travel options include car, park-and-ride services (including a Pullman Park and Ride from Elvington Airfield), bus, rail, bike, and air. Car parking at the University of York is for Blue Badge holders only. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
