TRAILDOG Castle Howard
TRAILDOG Castle Howard is a regency-themed trail event held on the grounds of Castle Howard. The event offers run and walk waves that allow participants to take part with one dog, two dogs, or without a dog. Regency attire is encouraged and a mass regency dance with guided choreography will be provided to participants in advance.
The course is fully way marked and marshalled. The event is fully timed and results are uploaded online with an SMS result sent to participants. Live music is provided at the finish by a string quartet. Camping and caravanning are available on the estate, located about a five minute drive from the venue.
Entry includes a personalised run number, accurate finish time, event photography, entry into Castle Howard grounds for the day, a wooden medal, and refreshments at the finish. The entry fee is £42 plus a processing fee. Spectators require a valid ticket; campsite guests receive a two for one spectator entry email. Marshals receive free entry and volunteers can contact the organisers by email.
Age and equipment notes: participants must be at least 11 years old for the 5k; dogs must be one year or older. Canicross runners must use correct canicross equipment. Choke chains, slip leads and restrictive harnesses are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
