TRAILDOG Castle Howard
TRAILDOG Castle Howard takes place on Sunday 11 October 2026 at Castle Howard. The event is regency themed and includes a mass regency dance with guided choreography provided to participants before the event. A live string quartet will play at the finish.
The main participatory distance is 5k. Participants may run or walk with one dog, two dogs or no dogs. Minimum ages: participants must be 11 years old and dogs must be at least 1 year old. A walking wave is available; a canicross wave requires appropriate canicross equipment. Choke chains, slip leads and restrictive harnesses are not permitted.
The course will be fully way marked and marshalled. The event is fully timed and finish times are provided via SMS; results are uploaded online instantly. Marshals receive free entry.
Entry fee is £42 plus a processing fee. Each participant receives a personalised run number, an accurate finish time, event photos, entry into Castle Howard grounds for the day, a wooden medal and edible items for human and dog such as lemonade, biscuits and jellies. Spectators require a valid ticket; participants staying at the estate campsite may receive a 2 for 1 spectator entry offer.
