Event Information
The Altra Yorkshire Marathon is a 26.2-mile marathon in York. The course is described as scenic, flat, and fast. The start line is at the University of York, and the event takes place on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The event includes a relay option (Yorkshire Marathon Relay) and a concurrent 10-mile race (Yorkshire 10 Mile).
What's Included
Event entry includes chip timing, a finisher’s goody bag, an exclusive medal, and an option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt. There is a VIP experience upgrade called the Erdinger Runners Lounge.
On the Day Details
- There is an Event Village with food and drink for purchase and charity partner stands.
- Baggage storage is available, using a strip from the race number.
- Pacers sponsored by Arla Protein will be on course, with visible finish time flags.
- Water stations provide 330ml bottles of water, and Applied Nutrition provides energy stations with electrolyte tablets, isotonic drinks, and gels.
- Medical personnel, first aid stations, and roaming first aiders are present on the course and in the Event Village.
- Clothing discarded at the start is collected and donated.
- Photos are taken by MarathonPhotos and can be purchased online.
- All results will be available on the website after the event.
- Bins and recycling facilities are provided on the course.
Logistics
Race numbers are posted to UK addresses approximately two weeks before the event. Participants from overseas or those who have changed address can collect their number from the Race Office on the event weekend. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
- Parking at the University of York is for Blue Badge holders only.
- Dedicated Park and Ride services operate from Elvington Airfield (Pullman Park and Ride).
- A city-centre shuttle bus runs from York Railway Station (Stand J) to the Event Village.
- Regular bus services (e.g., First Group No.66) also run from the city centre.
- York is accessible by train on the UK's East Coast line.
