Altra Yorkshire Marathon
The Altra Yorkshire Marathon is scheduled for Sunday 18 October 2026 and starts at the University of York. The route leaves the city walls and runs through surrounding countryside, passing Stockton-on-the-Forest, Buttercrambe Moor Wood and Balloon Tree Farm before returning to a finish on the university campus. The Event Village is located on University of York Campus West and the designated baggage store is on Campus South.
Entrants receive a finisher medal, chip timing, a goody bag and an optional finisher T‑shirt. Entrants must be 18 years or older on the day. Postal race number dispatch is not guaranteed after 28 September; participants who do not receive a number by post can collect from the Race Office on the event weekend.
On course there are fixed water stations supplying 330 ml bottles, Applied Nutrition fuel stations and pacers sponsored by Arla Protein. First aid stations are positioned near water stations, with a first aid and recovery unit by the finish. Photography is provided by MarathonPhotos and post-race massage is available in the Event Village.
Travel options include Park & Ride services from Elvington Airfield, Askham Bar and Grimston Bar; there is no event parking at the university. The event operates a sustainability programme with JogOn trainer drop-off points. Bone conducting headphones are permitted at a low volume so runners can hear marshals and emergency instructions.
