Altra Yorkshire Marathon : event summary
The Altra Yorkshire Marathon is a road marathon of 26.2 miles held in York on Sunday 18 October 2026, with the start line at the University of York. The course is described as scenic and predominantly flat and fast.
Entrants must be 18 years or over. Race services include chip timing, a finisher’s goody bag, an exclusive medal and an option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt with sublimation print and iTAB. Race numbers are scheduled to be posted approximately two weeks before the event; participants with non-UK postal addresses may collect race numbers from the Race Office on event weekend.
On-course provisions include water stations supplying 330 ml bottles and recycling bins at each water point, plus Applied Nutrition hydration tablets, isotonic drinks and energy gels. Pacers with flagged finish times will be available. Medical personnel will be positioned at regular intervals, with fixed first aid stations near water stations and a first aid unit and recovery area located near the start and finish area.
Event logistics note car parking at the University of York is for Blue Badge holders only; park-and-ride and city-centre shuttle services operate to the Event Village. Additional event features include baggage storage with a tear-off strip system, course photography, published results after the race and recycling and shoe donation initiatives.
