The Yorkshire Marathon

The Altra Yorkshire Marathon is a full 26.2 miles road race held in York on Sunday 18 October 2026 with a start line at the University of York. The course runs through and around the city and is supported by on-course spectators and an Event Village that hosts partner charities and food and drink outlets.

Entrants must be 18 years or over. Standard race inclusions listed by the organiser are chip timing, a finisher’s goody bag, an exclusive medal and an option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt with sublimation print and iTAB. Race numbers are dispatched approximately two weeks before the event; address changes can be made up to six weeks before the race. Race numbers are not posted to postal addresses outside the UK but can be collected from the Race Office at the event weekend.

On course services include water stations supplying 330 ml bottles, High5 energy stations offering Zero tabs and gels, and recycling bins provided after water points. Pacers sponsored by Arla Protein will carry flags showing target finish times. Medical provision comprises personnel at regular intervals, fixed first aid stations near water points, a first aid unit and recovery area near the start and finish and roaming first aiders. Allocated toilets are provided around the stadium. A baggage store operates using the tear-off strip on the race number and clothing left at the start is collected for donation unless placed in baggage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
