Altra Yorkshire Marathon : York, 18 October 2026
The Altra Yorkshire Marathon is a 26.2 mile road race held in York with the start and event village at the University of York on Sunday 18 October 2026. The route is described as scenic and predominantly flat, with on-course crowds and organised pacers carrying flags with target finish times.
Event services include chip timing, finisher’s goody bag, an exclusive medal and the option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt with sublimation print plus iTAB engraving. Race numbers are posted to UK addresses approximately two weeks before the event; overseas entrants are asked to collect numbers from the Race Office on the event weekend. Entrants must be 18 years or over.
On-course provision comprises water stations supplying 330 ml bottled water, Applied Nutrition energy stations offering electrolyte tablets, isotonic drinks and energy gels, and recycling bins at each water station. Medical cover includes fixed first aid stations near water points, a first aid unit and recovery area close to the start and finish, and roaming first aiders. Toilets are provided around the stadium and a designated baggage store is available for pre-race drop off.
Travel arrangements note there is no general parking at the University of York; dedicated Park & Ride services will operate from Elvington Airfield, Askham Bar and Grimston Bar, with a spectator shuttle to Dunnington and Stamford Bridge.
