Altra Yorkshire Marathon : event overview
The Altra Yorkshire Marathon is a full marathon of 26.2 miles held in York. The event is scheduled for Sunday 18 October 2026 with the start line at the University of York. Entrants must be 18 years or over. The course is described as scenic and as a flat and fast route. The organiser provides on-course support and spectator areas along the route.
Race services, on-course facilities and travel
Included with entry are chip timing, a finisher’s goody bag, an exclusive medal and an option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt with sublimation print and iTAB. Race numbers are usually posted about two weeks before the event; numbers will not be posted to overseas postal addresses and can be collected from the Race Office on event weekend. Address changes can be made up to six weeks before the event.
On course there are water stations supplying 330 ml bottles, High5 energy stations with Zero tabs and gels, and recycling bins at each water station. Fixed first aid stations are located near water stations, with a first aid unit and recovery area near the start and finish and roaming first aiders in the Event Village. Baggage must be dropped at the designated Baggage Store with the tear-off strip from the race number. Pacers sponsored by Arla Protein will carry flags showing target finish times. Transport options include park and ride services, a city-centre shuttle from York Railway Station and regular bus and rail services; car parking at the University is for Blue Badge holders only.
