Altra Yorkshire Marathon
The Altra Yorkshire Marathon is a long-distance running event held in the city of York. The event features a flat and fast course that starts at the University of York. Participants must be at least 18 years old to enter the full marathon distance.
The event offers several participation options:
- 42.2 km (Marathon)
- Yorkshire Marathon Relay
- Yorkshire 10 Mile
The course includes multiple supporting features for runners. Energy stations are located along the route, providing water in 330ml bottles as well as electrolyte tablets, isotonic drinks, and energy gels. Pacing groups are available to help participants reach specific finish times. Medical personnel are stationed at regular intervals, with fixed first aid stations near water points and a recovery area at the start and finish lines.
Registered participants receive a race number delivered by post approximately two weeks before the event, though international entrants must collect theirs from the Race Office on event weekend. All participants are provided with chip timing, a finisher's goody bag, and an exclusive medal. Options are available to engrave medals with names and finish times or to pre-order finisher t-shirts.
The Event Village at the University of York includes a baggage store, food and drink vendors, and partner charity stalls. For travel, dedicated park and ride services operate from Elvington Airfield, and shuttle buses run directly from York Railway Station to the Event Village.
