Altra Yorkshire Marathon
The Altra Yorkshire Marathon takes place in York on Sunday 18 October 2026. The race starts and finishes at the University of York and covers 26.2 miles on a scenic, largely flat course with on-course crowd support.
Entrants must be 18 years or over. Standard race inclusions are chip timing, a finisher’s goody bag, the option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt with sublimation print and iTAB, and an exclusive finisher medal. Race numbers are normally posted about two weeks before the event; numbers will not be posted to addresses outside the UK and can be collected from the Race Office at the event.
On course there are water stations supplying 330ml bottles, and Applied Nutrition energy stations offering electrolyte tablets, isotonic drinks and energy gels. Bins and recycling points are provided at water stations. Pacers sponsored by Arla Protein will be available, each carrying flags with target finish times. Designated toilets are located around the stadium area. First aid stations are placed near water stations, with a first aid unit and recovery area near the start and finish and roaming first aiders in the Event Village.
The Event Village at the University of York offers food and drink for purchase and space for partner charities. Baggage can be left in the designated Baggage Store using the tear-off strip on the race number. Photography is provided by MarathonPhotos and results are published after the event. Park & Ride services operate to the Event Village from Elvington Airfield, Askham Bar and Grimston Bar; there is no general event parking at the University except for Blue Badge holders. Road closures and spectator shuttle services will be in place on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
